Teaching Yoga for Pain Care Workshop with Elaine Oyang

Pain, of all dimensions, is a shared human experience. Yet, pain is not very well understood, and current treatments rely mostly on pharmaceutical products. Furthermore, those living with chronic (physical) pain experience trauma not only from the debilitation that their conditions can bring about, but also from being often misdiagnosed, treated with a lack of empathy and compassion, and marginalized.

In this workshop, learn how yoga, from asanas to philosophy, can be incorporated into pain care for a holistic and person-centered approach. Learn to use teaching cues, body language, voice, and class settings to help your students with chronic pain feel safe and supported.

You may like to have a notebook + pen for taking notes (completely optional). You are welcome to sit in a chair, lie reclined, or walk/move around as needed during the presentation. Be comfortable!

This single event forms part of our Accessible Yoga Association Monthly Programs for December. Click here to check out our other December offerings and register for our Workshop + Asana Class + Community Forum Bundle.
