AYA Monthly Program September: Workshop (Community)

September 10th, 2021 | 1pm-2pm PDT | 4pm-5pm EDT

Captioned replay available for registrants.

Embrace Yoga's Roots with Susanna Barkataki

In this workshop we cover the history of colonization and oppression, cultural issues, cultural appropriation, modern day segregation in yoga, allyship and accompliceship, and explore concrete tools for how to create inclusion and unity.

In this immersive workshop, for practitioners, teachers and students of yoga, Susanna Barkataki will guide participants on a rich cultural journey into the roots of yoga, breakdown trauma, colonization and oppression and invite participants into skill-building for inclusion and diversity.

In a blend of practice, meditation, reflection, lecture and discussion, this training will share authentic, embodied, powerful and inspirational tools for the heart and depth of yoga's roots.
