In this immersive workshop, for practitioners, teachers and students of yoga, Susanna Barkataki will guide participants on a rich cultural journey into the roots of yoga, breakdown trauma, colonization and oppression and invite participants into skill-building for inclusion and diversity.
In a blend of practice, meditation, reflection, lecture and discussion, this training will share authentic, embodied, powerful and inspirational tools for the heart and depth of yoga's roots.

As a technology, Yoga has infinite layers operating independently and in tandem to help the practitioner realize their ‘dharma’, or ultimate purpose. When we dare to go beyond the mechanical movements and surrender to Yoga as a state of being, we become boundless.
Join Divya in this class diving into the traditional Surya Namaskar sequence and uncovering the lesser known elements of mantra, storytelling and the zodiac.

Our presenters will discuss cultural appropriation and the resulting harm, as well as anti-caste, anti-sectarian, liberatory approaches to yoga practice from South Asia and beyond.
As part of this discussion, we will invite you to ask questions, share your own work and wisdom, and network with other yoga teachers and organizations whose work centers a decolonized approach to yoga.
