Amma Fandiño (she/her), RYT500, MSc, has been a devoted yogini for over 28 years and a passionate biologist for 27 years. A Certified Integral Yoga and Accessible Yoga teacher, Amma's passion is to share yoga with communities with challenges and conditions of vulnerability on a physical, mental and emotional level. Amma teaches yoga to cancer patients contributing to improve their life quality and their ability to cope with the difficult circumstances of the disease. She also dedicates her efforts to provide a space that promotes empowerment, rehabilitation, and healing of those deprived of liberty, as well as supporting their addiction recovery processes. Amma is an Accessible Yoga Ambassador since 2015 and serves as a regional representative of the AY group in Spanish. As a Yoga Accessible trainer, she feels honored and fortunate to support the training of yoga teachers in the Spanish-speaking community. She lives in Colombia with her husband and two kids and loves to spend her free time in contact with nature.

Nick Utley’s yoga classes are focused on body alignment and sustainable flow. He encourages each student to find their own best posture through verbal cues, mindful observation, and personal feedback. Each class is crafted with individual attention and unique sequences.

He has trained under many renowned yoga teachers from around the world, and has been studying this practice since 2006, and teaching since 2010.

Nick grew up in Gainesville where he earned a double BA in Anthropology and Criminology from the University of Florida in the Fall of 2003. From 2005-2009 he worked in direct service with at-risk inner city youth, and it was during this time that he met the practice of yoga.

Nick has visited a number of Florida and California correctional facilities as a student and also has professional experience in restorative justice circles. He also worked as an events coordinator and studio manager for a number of successful yoga studios in the SF Bay Area.

Booker brings her heart to the intersection of Dharma, Embodied Wisdom, and Liberation, and speaks nationally on expanding our vision around culturally responsive teaching, and changing the paradigm of self and community care. She has spoken at Mind & Life Institute's International Symposium, Contemplative Minds in Higher Education, Mindfulness in America, and Mindfulness in Education conferences, along with other pioneers in the mindfulness field such as Jon Kabat-Zinn, Dr. Daniel Siegel, and His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Booker has been a featured speaker and facilitator at the Fetzer Institute, Vassar and Pitzer Colleges, the Contemplative Sciences Center at the University of Virginia, and trains future teachers through the Peace Corps’ Jaffe Fellows and Teaching Residents Program at Columbia University. She shared practice with vulnerable populations and incarcerated youth in New York City for over a decade, serving as the Director of Trainings for Lineage Project. During this time she also facilitated a two year mindfulness and cognitive-based therapy intervention on Rikers Island, a partnership between New York University and the National Institute of Health. Booker is a co-founder of the Yoga Service Council and the Meditation Working Group of Occupy Wall Street; a co-author of Best Practices for Yoga in a Criminal Justice Setting, and Georgetown Law's Center on Poverty and Inequality's report: Gender & Trauma—Somatic Interventions for Girls in Juvenile Justice and contributed to Sharon Salzberg's book ‘Happiness at Work’. In 2020 Booker graduated from Spirit Rock Meditation Center’s 4 year Teacher Training, was a Sojourner Truth Leadership Fellow through Auburn Seminary, and was voted by her peers as one of the 12 Powerful Women in the Mindfulness Movement.

Juan Martinez is a certified Yoga teacher, with more than 20 years of practice and 10 years of sharing in different spaces. During the last years he has specialized in Inclusive Yoga, certifying in Inclusive Yoga (specialized in disabilities, addictions and pathologies), Accessible Yoga, Yoga Sensitive to Trauma, Yoga for self regulation and trauma, Yoga Through of Lens of Trauma and Incarceration, Therapeutic Yoga, among others, as well as training on yoga form addiction recovery, people with disabilities, mindfulness, anti-racism, yoga for older beginners, trauma informed yoga nidra, and mindful - trauma informed yoga.

All that preparation, research and learning led him to develop the Yoga Inclusive Costa Rica program, with which he has brought Yoga to people, groups, communities who are far away and excluded from the practice: people in prison, in rehabilitation of addictions, survivors of sexual abuse, inhabitants of the street, refugees and migrates, adults and older adults, with physical and / or cognitive disabilities, among others.

His approach goes beyond postural practice and seeks to show through Yoga, a safe and respectful place for all people, celebrating diversity and valuing each person and their life experience and process from the most positive point, giving importance to technique as well as the philosophy and psychology of practice, to share it assertively to all people from inclusion, equity, adaptation and accessibility, where everyone is welcome, through compassion and selfless service.
